Santa Marinha

Quinta de Santa Marinha has a rich history with deep roots in the region’s winemaking tradition. The name of the property comes from the Chapel of Santa Marinha, one of the local historic landmarks. In the beginning, it was a collection of fields and plots that the villagers called ‘Quinta do Vale’. At the time, it was crossed by a public passageway, later replaced by the road that currently divides the property into two parts.

Over time, the part where the chapel dedicated to Santa Marinha stands came to be known as Quinta de Santa Marinha, in honour of the saint who it was named after.

From its earliest days, Quinta de Santa Marinha was dedicated to producing white and red wines. In the past, it was possible to find grape varieties such as Loureiro, Trajadura and Arinto in the whites, and Borraçal, Espadeiro and Pical Pôlho in the reds. Today, the Quinta has a modern and renewed profile, focusing on producing wines from the international Chardonnay and Merlot grape varieties, recognised for their exceptional quality.

Over the years, the quinta has undergone modernisation that preserves its essence and connection with nature, making it a perfect place for those seeking relaxation and contact with the countryside.
